    Wuhu port's four-month box volume increases 20.1pc to 113,700 TEU
    THE Port of Wuhu in eastern China's Anhui province posted a year-on-year 20.1 per cent increase in container volume to 113,700 TEU in the first four months, setting a record high, reports Xinhua. Overall cargo throughput via the port increased 17.9 per cent to 32.41 million tonnes in the period. Outbound cargo was 19.5 million tonnes, while inbound cargo came to 12.91 million tonnes. Foreign trade volume in the four months went up 10.1 per cent year on year to 690,900 tonnes. From January to April, apart from coal and commercial automobiles, the port's major categories of cargo such as cement, non-metallic mine, mineral building materials, steel, oil and gas products, chemicals and containers all maintained a higher growth rate.
