Agility increases Malaysian shuttle trucking frequency to daily
AGILITY, a global logistics provider, has increased the frequency of its trucking shuttle service in Malaysia to a daily frequency, to connect the company's warehouses in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Melaka.
The service is supported by a fleet of trucks that includes the company's own plus those from selected partners.
"This is part of our on-going investment to further develop our capabilities and improve our customer service levels in Malaysia. We can see many opportunities in the country and the trucking services and network of logistics centres provide us with a platform for growth," said Agility south east Asia chief Morten Damgaard.
The shuttle will strengthen the company's domestic road freight services and its cross-border trucking business, linking neighbouring ASEAN countries such as Thailand and Vietnam with services into China.
Currently, most clients using the service are from the electronics industry, but Mr Damgaard expects this to extend to other industries. "We are seeing more business coming from the automotive, fashion and retail industries as they realise the benefits and cost savings of cross-border trucking," he said.
The company now has more than 500 employees and a total of 62,000 square metres of warehouse space in Malaysia.
