    Kerry Logistics on course for phase 2 of Chongqing Logistics Centre

    HONG KONG-based Kerry Logistics is on track for phase two of its Chongqing Logistics Centre in Western China after its first phase of 20,500 square metres completed with an additional 62,700 square metres of warehousing to be built.

    The facility will eventually total 83,200 square metres of warehousing with two towers both four storey high where it will offer integrated logistics services such as VMI, pick-and-pack, labelling, packing and re-packing to targeted areas of auto spare parts, electronics & hi-tech and telecommunications sectors.

     

    "Chongqing is one of the fastest growing cities in Western China and we have seen a rapid increase in demand for warehousing and logistics services," said its mainland China managing director Edward Erni, of a municipality with an estimated population of 28,846,200 and economic growth of 15.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2011.

     

    Kerry Logistics offers integrated logistics, international freight forwarding and supply chain solutions with facilities that total area of more than 2.4 million square metres served by a truck fleet of about 8,000 vehicles, with a range of operations reaching 24 countries and supported by a staff strength of over 15,000.
